FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla.--(BUSINESS WIRE0--Oct. 5, 1999--
BarPoint.com, Inc. (OTC Bulletin Board: BPNT), developer of a
revolutionary new way of using the Internet to receive product and
comparative pricing information, today announced that Young & Rubicam
Inc.'s Wunderman Cato Johnson (NYSE: YNR)) has become its strategic
marketing and advertising agency of record. Under the terms of the
agreement, WCJ will have responsibility for branding and advertising
and will also participate in business development activities connected
with the launch and ongoing business of BarPoint.com.
"We believe BarPoint.com's technology has enormous potential and
far-reaching applications--both for consumers and marketers alike,"
said Adam Bauman, WCJ's Executive Vice President for e-Commerce in
North America. Bauman explained that as part of its agreement with
Barpoint, WCJ has accepted stock warrants in the company in addition
to traditional fee compensation. "Our role exceeds that of a
traditional agency, and reflects our belief that BarPoint.com's
technology will change the shopping and purchasing habits of
consumers."
Barpoint.com, whose site contains the largest web-based UPC code
search engine, enables consumers to find the lowest price for millions
of products on the web, simply by entering the UPC code.
"WCJ brings a wealth of strategic marketing and branding
expertise to our team," said Leigh Rothschild, BarPoint's Chairman and
CEO. "Our relationship with WCJ is extremely significant as together
we embark on our quest to transform the way Americans shop."

About Barpoint.Com
Barpoint.com, founded last year, has developed a unique database
including the UPC barcodes of nearly every consumer product sold in
the U.S. today along with information about those products. It has
also developed patent pending search technology to allow consumers to
use the UPC Barcode that appears on more than 100 million retail items
as the link to product specific, consumer oriented search results from
the Internet. In addition to visiting BarPoint from their desktops,
consumers will be able to access the BarPoint server from a variety of
hand-held and wireless devices including the Palm VII from 3Com/Palm
Computing (Nasdaq: Coms), Interactive Pagers such as those from RIM
(Research In Motion, Nasdaq: RIMM), hand-held scanning devices such as
those manufactured by Symbol Technologies (NYSE: SBL) and other PDA's.
BarPoint search results are tailored to give users the kind of
information needed to make an informed purchasing choice - information
about, for example, product specifications and features, similar
items, and prices at various outlets.
