Dudes,

I got this tidbit from the Cisco board:

Bloomberg is reporting that Cisco also considered buying Tellabs but got Cerant at half the price for the same technology. Says market has figured that out as Cisco is up and Tellabs is off.

Reports analysts are saying Cisco got a good price considering the technology and recent market action.

I wonder if this puts Tlab on the takeover radar for someone else. I just bought some shares for this and also as bottom-fishing.

Clay

Instead of a warning that I may be wrong, I just put out a general observation. I have been selling naked calls and puts this morning and I sold some naked calls yesterday too. I almost erased my post when I wrote that line you pointed but by then I had put in too much time evaluating fair values for my post to be totally useless. So I would rather be selling the 60s calls before considering selling the 70s.

Because my conclusions are tentative and I don't want to mislead anyone's trading decisions, I rarely post the signals that I get from the options trading. But today was a special situation where I was trying hard to discern a pattern in the options trading. But sometimes there is no pattern or it is unreliable. I have been moving my target price for Tellabs at options expiration a little bit lower today. But you make a good point. And I should not post unreliaable signals.

I am usually long Tellabs (more naked puts than naked calls) but today I am almost completely balanced. Good Luck.
