JC: how exactly does WIND fit into

this relationship....sorry for the ?s but still learning
the ins and outs WIND...intel has I/O that are run by vxWorks, is that true, and if so how will the merger of the NGIO and FIO help wind and maybe not a supplier from an Intel competitor... does WIND still have licenses that would be in effect if a merger was to take place....

Thanks for the article. Really interesting to hear Craig Barrett's views on NGIO/FIO. The merger looks like some big news. WIND is very leveraged on the results of the vote, I think. At least the bottom line is. The basic work for I2O was done several years ago, so now, the harvest will finally come in.

I am wondering about Barrett's comment:

Also included in the plan, the companies will... arrange to have the technology ready in time for McKinley, the second in Intel's line of 64-bit chips. McKinley is due in late 2001.

Does that mean that the I2O main course is still a couple of years away?
