JNPR and COMS I do not know the number of shares 3Com owns of JNPR. My assumption of $1B may be off significantly. I just assumed that b/c it was stated on this thread. The real story is that JNPR sold stock to a bunch of people and 3Com was listed in the group. It doesn't break down how much they own. from SEC filings: 13. On July 1, 1997 and September 30, 1997, we sold 5,151,178 shares of our Series C Preferred Stock at $8.93 per share to the following private investors for an aggregate purchase price of $46,000,020: 3Com Corporation, Anschutz Family Investment Company LLC, AT&T Venture Fund II, L.P., Crosspoint Venture Partners 1996, Ericsson Business Networks AB, Lucent Technologies, Inc., Newbridge Networks Corporation, Nortel Networks Corporation and UUNet Technologies, Inc. So they may own only a small portion of a billion but i'm sure its significant ($100M to $300M).
