Of course the constraint is bandwidth... for the applications Rambus targets. Eventually, every application will hit the wall (game machines went first, remember). There's lots of money still to be made in the applications in which the company is currently strong...

Dan: I wrote as tightly focused response that I could do, I focused on RMBS's technology not Intel's technology. I talk about RMBS story so you talk about Intel story. I could have mentioned cache size which will increase dramatically with 0.18 fab. I expect caches of 512K or 1 Mb standard on all Intel microprocessor so delays will be time needed to refresh cache. RDRAM sustained bandwidth with multiple channels @ 1.6 GB /sec will blow the PC/DRR alternative stuck somewhere 800-1200 Mb/sec sustained bandwidth. Keep the FUD up with Tom's hardware. By end of tomorrow, I will have all of my 7 figure dollar value of RMBS stock in hand with under $90 purchase price. You are becoming more and more irrevalent day by day. I would like to have as many people share in RMBS's appreciation that is going to at least double it's price from $82 recently by the time RDRAM machines ship in mass in DEC and JAN .
