New Home Sales for July = +0.1% to 980k units

Sales of new one-family houses in July 1999 were at a seasonally adjusted annual rate of 980,000 according to estimates released today by the U.S. Census Bureau and the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development. This is virtually unchanged (+/-9 percent) from the revised June rate of 979,000 and 11 (+/-10) percent above the July 1998 rate of 883,000.
