Star Office 5.1 is very similar to MS Office. I too do not like how it sets up a desktop every time you turn it on. I am not as used to it as I am of MS Office, however I think this is just because I haven't used it as much. The thing I like about it most, is that it has nothing to do with Microsoft, a company I have come to despise due to their business monopolistic tactics IMHO.
