CORRECTED - Grand Toys reaches agreement on Pokemom
In Aug. 26 NEW YORK story headlined ``Grand Toys still in talks for Pokemon license,' please read in headline ...Grand toys reaches agreement... instead of ...Grand Toys still in talks...

In first paragraph, please delete the following: ...but that it has not yet completed that agreement....

Corrections make clear that Grand toys has entered into the contract and is not still negotiating it.

A corrected repetition follows.

NEW YORK, Aug 26 (Reuters) - Grand Toys International Inc. (Nasdaq:GRIN - news) said Thursday it had signed a deal with a unit of 4Kids Entertainment Inc. (Nasdaq:KIDE - news) to acquire a license for the Pokemon character.

Grand Toys said a fully executed, non-exclusive contract has been entered into with Nintendo of America and that its Pokemon product line would include balls, kites and back-to-school items like pens and binders.

The company said it entered into the contract through Nintendo of America's exclusive agent, Leisure Concepts Inc. -- the licensing division of 4Kids.

The announcement comes as Grand Toys stock has taken a dizzying four-day trip, climbing more than 70 percent to hit a new 52-week high on Wednesday as industry analysts and traders said the company had already closed the deal.

Grand Toys shares dropped back 6-1/2 points to close at 16-9/16 on Thursday.

Industry analysts and trade publications said earlier in the week that the Canadian toy distributor had a license to make and sell the Pokemon products in Canada. Pokemon is a Japanese-born cartoon character featured in a television series and games.

Shares of 4Kids, which distributes the Pokemon television program, closed down 6-7/8 to 58-1/8, off a 52-week high of 70 but up from a year low of 1-7/8.
