The little guy doesn't buy 20-40 ounces, he might take $100 down to the local coin shop once a month and pick up a 1/4 ounce gold Eagle and a half-dozen silver rounds to stash in his safe deposit box. The bullion coin market is large and reputable, so I don't think we need another form of gold. Prices are very competitive, with spot at $254, Eagles are bid $266, ask $271, a pretty small spread
