Actually, I know a lot of nervous bulls, and a lot of complacent bears, only it's a kind of battered complacency. The latter, in fact, seem to me to be about as arrogant as some of the mindless bulls I've seen, except that their arrogance has taken such a beating in recent years that they're muttering rather than crowing, but they are nevertheless quite certain in their "knowledge" that a crash is only a matter of time, and a "just" comeuppance will occur, the virtuous knowing few will conquer and be vindicated in the endtimes to come.

So these capitalists who say in one context that "the market knows best" and that government should stay out of everything but defense, say in this context that they know better, the market is "wrong," and the only reason it's this high is x [take your pick as to the reason, but it's often Greenshades' injected liquidity].

Eschatological capitalism.
