So, the "problem" has already been identified and
a fix found, right? That would explain some
delay in Athlon introduction... I recall that last
time MSI screwed up GTW with K6 boards, now the
glitch with K7. Looks like a pattern here :)

Yes, this is very "disconcerting" ... Starting to look like a "normal" AMD ramp, IMHO.
