Bob : Indeed. You use ASA as your SAf gold index and, as your comparative graph shows, it's perfectly adequate, comparing very well with XAU. Unfortunately, those of us in SAf do not have access to such a lock-up. ASA trades only in the US.

I like the way you say AV just sold Harties to Buffels. You mean AV gave Harties away to DRD. R45m for a mine the size of Harties can hardly be regarded as a price. Three years ago I was a shareholder in Harties and didn't get out in time. So, I saw my original R40/share investment diminish to R3/share as result of the AVGold merger etc. Now AVGold "sold" it for peanuts in their desperation to raise funds for capex to bring Target on stream. Looks like Messrs Kebble fell with their butts in the butter.
