Uncle Clive, Based on the copy of the Canadian Search Warrant you posted, I would have to agree Starnet and/or employees have broken Canadian laws. As to remedies, the end result will probably cost Amber her job as a CSR, following admission of guilt by the company, payment of a minuscule fine, commitment to prevent reoccurrance and then business as usual!

PlayStar Corporation learned their lesson a couple of years ago and departed Canada for reorganization in St. John's Antigua and Starnet may do likewise perhaps to the Isle of Man.

World Wide Web Casinos and Intersphire both had similar problems within the United States. So, the message may be if your in the Internet gambling business: "Get the hell out of North America"!

Uncle Clive, I think your post answers you own question. The bet was placed in Belmont Casino. Isn't that a licensee of SNMM? So then the bet was not placed in SNMM's casino, i.e. worldgaming.com. But even if there are some minor differences of interpretation of law, it should not be a big thing. SNMM did not have the intent of violating the law and was following its attorneys advice in good faith. No big thing. I don't see the criminal intent that unscrupulous shorters are trying to imply permeated SNMM's business practice.

UC, excellent post. great information outlining unnecessary risks taken by this company. I appreciate your thoroughness and actually figured that if anyone would come up with this, you would. Fortunately for Starnet, this is minor stuff that will and can be settled by fines. I have to sat from experience and have posted on other venues that i found Starnet support easily replaced....I believe my comments were that kids could be taken off the beach of Antigua and provide the same content as long as they could speak english.
