Hello !!!??? Anybody Home. Diwali was first then Lahore diplomacy and then Kargil. The lahore initiative was left in the way side because of Kargil. Get your facts right.

And you get your bearings right! There would have been no need for Lahore if there had been no Diwali.

American intervention yes.

Exactly. And that is the first step towards internationalizing the issue. The next time anything happens in Kashmir, the whole world treats it as their own problem, not just as a problem between the two countries involved. Can't afford to ignore things when nuclear weapons are involved. Can you?!

So, thanks to the nuclear Diwali, there is now more peace in the region and less likelihood of others poking their noses in the matter! Right? ;-)

Seriously, India is stupid in believing that the issue can be solved bilaterally. Not after 50 years of wrangling and fighting. Unless of course, the RSS fruitcakes really believe that these problems can be "solved" by launching an all-out war. And going by the statements of some of their pointyhead leaders, they seem to believe in exactly that.

The real statements you can hear from rubin, curry,.... There you can hear them say who was involved.

Can you name even one consequence of significance as a result of those "real statements"? You see, it is not even what they say that is important, it is what they do! The reality is that as far as the West is concerned, Pakistan in its present shape is a far better alternative to anything else that might replace it in that region. So, don't expect them to tip the apple-cart anytime. They will be more than happy as long as the fires are small and local.
