Wanted: State of Art Open MRI system JLFleck 08/26/1999 02:40

My group has recently become very serious in evaluating the purchaseof an open MRI system. I expect that IF Fonar is as serious aboutselling as this PR claims it is, then I should learn very quickly what is for sale from them. I anticipate that competition will be fierce atRSNA in this and other niche market products. We would make the decision based on a few key issues:
1. Technical specifications;
2. Communication with users of the device;
3. Observing the system
performance in at least 2 installations;
4. Upgrade path;
5. Service
history; and
6. Pricing.
Fonar should consider this a "lead" and contact me when they are actually prepared to sell the fully equipped top of the line, no holds-barred Open system. I predict this year will be the battle of the Opens at RSNA. Please mark today's date as that in which the clock started ticking.

SOL called JLFleck 08/27/1999 03:01 pm EDT

I got to work 6 hours late today due to a bad car situation. Sat down , took a breath and the phone rang. Sol Ginzburg. Very good serious conversation, no BS as near as I could tell. It was apparent that we were on slightly different levels technically but it did not matter as he said, give me the word and I get on a plane. I need to go to work now but will fill it in a bit later. As for the sales initiative, so far so good. Tech-wise, time will tell...
