If I'm not mistaken, Alan Greenspan won the silver medal for the balance beam in the '42 Olympics (it could have been the pommel horse, I'll defer to the Fed historians on this one).

jhg_in_kc, I'm confused about one thing. Alan Greenspan is chairman of the Federal Reserve Board and, among numerous responsibilities, he is responsible for setting monetary policy for the US. In short, the FRS is responsible for federal monetary matters. The stock markets are private enterprises, not part of the Federal Government. Given this is true, what authority does AG have over the US markets, and the performance of the markets? Hope I'm clear in my posting. IMO, AG should stay out of the markets...its the SEC that regulates the markets, not the FRB.
