You are right in that it is different type of work...

For the past 8 years or so I have worked in the software development arena, network and small computer support, and recently web development...

The main difference is that of hardware...establishing and maintaining network routers, modems, servers etc...is not at all simaliar to web design and programming; however, GNET probably has a great deal of expertise in nearly all of these various areas with perhaps the exception of high-end network operations...(though, I'd bet they have some expertise here too)

I'm not necessarily proposing purchasing an ISP to get those eyeballs..but I don't have a problem with GNET working a deal with some of these Free ISPs to get additional eyeballs...the question becomes...how can GNET purchase additional eyeballs with a very high assurance that they will get an increase in revenue...??

On another note...

What are the treads thoughts on ELAW? For those savvy lawyer investors out there...can you enlighten the thread on ELAW (or go over to the ELAW thread)...

When I was doing support Computer support for some very high-level executives...I had to install Lexis/Nexis software on many of thier computers. I believe the hourly cost is close to $200...

anyhow...ELAW just a couple of months ago started a web site that offers legal info at something like $45/month...
I think the site is called itsalaw.com (you can find it on the ELAW thread just recently started)

I was wondering if this type of business could be incorporated or utilized by the hypermart community...

Not sure about profitability or any of that other stuff...though right now Lexis/Nexis and Westlaw (I think) have pretty much 100% of the market share in this type of business but haven't delved into the internet arena as of yet...

Anyhow...just an idea for GNET folks

If anyone knows anything about this type of business and ELAW...can you send me a PM? TIA

v/r

Steve

RTEV using your line of reasoning that gnet knows nothing about isps and therefore should stay out of that business means you think gnet should stay out of bed with PA and broadband for the same reasons...now obviously that does not make sense right? so like I said before and just to repeat here for emphasis let PA buy the ISP company and their know how and link it to GNET until broadband comes on board.
