Kemble: Hi! I spent 30 minutes on the phone with Dell tonight. I want to buy a new computer, which I will probably end up ordering on-line. But, I had some questions, so I needed to talk to a person. I do want to make sure he gets the commission and I am sending my parents to him to buy their Dell. Their salespeople really know their stuff. Of course, I was asking a lot of questions about how they are doing... And, the guy kept talking me into adding more stuff. He also made sure that I bought the extended warranty. And, he kept taking me back to close the sale. I am in sales and I have had a lot of training with the top radio sales consultants. I wanted to hear his pitch against the competitors. I was very impressed. He was very professional, well-trained and he countered every objection I gave him. He wanted the sale. I know for a fact that they are very intense in that department (and I am glad!). He accidentally hung-up on me (not impressive), but he called me right back. I called him back at the same time and he had e-mailed their department to send my call back to him. He was very focused and he wanted the sale. I haven't bought yet, but I will. I have not seen a together sales presentation like this in a very long time. It really motivated me to share this information with my staff. No wonder they are doing so well. This is one great, cohesive team. What a model for other companies. I also had to call AOL because it crashed on my computer tonight. It took me forever to get through. Once I talked to three people, held for a long, long time and finally got to someone in technical assistance, they were very helpful. But, the guy transferred me to someone else after I got AOL re-installed. I got their pushy sales pitch about their new long distance plan for 9 cents a minute. What a difference in style. Dell is leading the way. I am sure about that. Thought this would interest you! By the way, Daniel would say about Compaq, "I can't like it." That is what he says when he does not like something. And, he recognizes Michael Dell's picture. Not bad for a 3 year-old Junior Dellhead. LW
