You recall, of course, that unfrocked Archbishop Cranmer held his hand first in the flame when he was incinerated because of heresy. It was the hand that had signed his recantation under torture. That crazy ex-FBI agent in Watergate also burned himself to show his fortitude. It's a common way of showing off.

Well, it wasn't on purpose...
I did set one of my friends on
fire once... Okay twice. But the
second time was an accident. And
it was his fault.

The first time, he was sitting in the
courtyard, while I was testing some
incendiary balloons. He bet that I
couldn't hit him. Silly boy.
