What I find particularly interesting is that the commentary against the SEC investigation and Morganstern's article does not address the issue at all.

I myself have seen many flagrant abuses of the 'uptick' rule, some not even mentioned publicly. So what if they are blaming large trading volumes on shorting when this is patently ridiculous. That's not the issue.

I do not want renegades flouting the uptick and borrowing rules because that puts them at an advantage to ME. Since I am not associated with a firm that allows the violation, I can't enjoy the benefits of same.

Why all the venom against what appears to be a legitimate investigation? Party over maybe?
