I was at the Telcom 99 show in NYC this week and visited with FCM and several other exhibitors. Clearly, this industry is booming and there is quite a distinction between the players. Several companies looked really good, such as Net to Phone and Nuera. They had good looking displays and knowledgeable people at the booths. Both of these companies have great growth plans. FCM was not quite in this category, however, they were a decent second place to the best companies. Unfortunately, FCM used their small booth which does not allow them to demonstrate their products. Their booth was also manned by sales personnel that were knowledgeable about the products, but did not know much about the company's growth plans or revenue projections. The FCM booth consistently had visitors every time I checked. Ron Weaver was at the show the day I was there, but apparently was tied up at a press conference. Also, he was supposed to give a presentation/conference on Corporate Use of IP on Wednesday. Beyond that, there were numerous other companies that were obviously trying to get in the business but were not very busy or successful looking. I'm glad to say FCM stood well above these companies.
