That comparison is absurd. I NEVER heard a joke about Reagan's intellect until his second term. Even then, people talked about him zoning out, not his basic intelligence. Reagan had other assets, he was a governor, a great speaker and a "leader." Quayle has none of those attributes. Quayle will never be able to obtain the intangible status of being a "leader". Few do. Ike, JFK and Reagan had it. The other presidents in my life span did not.
