my answer is simple. It has been easiest over the last 90 or so years to buy good companies and stay long rather than increase the number of decisions to be made by timing the market. I have withstood every dip in the market since 87 and I will continue to do so unless I get wiped out beforhand, something I doubt....Last years 40% nasdaq correction is about as bad as it can get in my opinion....I didn't see that coming and it was painful while it lasted, but I have a whole lot more money today that I did one year ago, because I ignored the fear and focused on the greed part of all of us
