TA -- Thanks for posting the article. I favor the Fed Chairman being forbidden to speak except when making official announcements or giving required testimony.
Additional flapping of the lips smacks of less-than-devine intervention.

There's enough to wonder about when making investment/trading decisions (including arrangement of the chicken bones!). I do not need AG deciding the "appropriate" value of my portfolio.

2000 is an election year. Greenspan wants to get all the rate hikes done this year so perhaps he will lower them going into the heat of the election season and his re-appointment time (May, 2000).
