ZH, imo if the ramp job does relate to the convert, it isn't a broad conspiracy but instead collusion among the brokers to hedge whoever's holding the converts. I'm sure that TXN isn't taking it for granted that MU will survive, and they want to hedge their position. Who would investment bankers rather make happy, companies like TXN who are very likely to survive or a company like MU? MU will need more money, which of course means fees for the firms touting the stock, but I think 98 shows that MU will take whatever they can get and that they aren't scared to beg or grovel for it. Also, the analysts' job is to ramp, so there doesn't necessarily have to be a conspiracy afoot. Ramp jobs like this one are usually short term rises for MU, after which they fall a bit. With MU, will probably be interesting.
