I have not been able to fine on either the Cyber or Penson site where one may check
or download their trading account. If this is available can someone point me to the
correct URL?

I think this is the site you are looking for
clients.penson.com

Good Luck

Hi jebj

The ability to download into one of the "normal" tax program would be a time savings tool - into MS Excel would be a fallback position.

I'm looking into this area myself and was informed by Cybercorp that your tranaction records could either be drag and dropped from Cyber software into an Excel spreadsheet or a file from Penson could be imported into either Excel or Quicken. They also said the Penson data includes commisions whereas the Cybercorp data did not. I would definitely want commision records to be included.

As far as Quicken or Excel, I tend to agree with you that Excel has a learning curve..read ANOTHER learning curve <G> that I'd personally rather avoid at the moment. But I've read that Quicken does not handle shorts very well if at all. If this is true than Qicken would not be an option. The only other possibility that I'm aware of is Stock Tax from Obvioussoft obvioussoft.com which purports to handle Penson's format.

I have not decided which way to go myself and would be interested in hearing your take on the subject.
