Or non-competative examples like art. I will never forget the picture I once saw drawn by an artist with a pencil. It so accurately captured what there was to be seen in real-life that just for a moment I thought it was a color photograph. Better than what can be delivered by someone less competent using the best paints, paint brushes, and hand-stretched canvases.

Skill, even when developed under less than ideal circumstances, is always more important than tools. A master can create a masterpiece with the lowliest of tools.

I doubt Antonio Stradivari's tools would fall into today's high tech category. They might not even be considered average.
