Hello, Bill. Mephisto sleeps. The antibiotic kicked in.

Let me describe the injury in terms of a human. The cut is almost underneath the right arm pit and runs towards the chest. (So his paw was not affected)

Now that the area is shaved and the abscess has burst I can see that the cut is over 1 inch in length. It is also deep, according to the vet.

Last week, I had many appointments so I was away almost every day. It was also warm. The heat knocks M out because he's completely black.

I was concerned but Mephisto ate and drank as usual. But yesterday afternoon, after the stock market closed, I got to thinking about the injury. I was anxious. I thought maybe M had a tumor.

It is so good that you told me to call the vet. I believe I would have called the vet today, anyway. But the abscess burst this morning. So I would have been terrified if I had not talked to the vet's office last night.

Housemate was pretty shaken up as it was and so was I.

It is good to hear that Amoxocillin is good. The cortisone that we got for M last fall worked very well. The doctors are at the same clinic.

A woman we know, whose Dad is a vet in another city, takes her cats to this clinic. She thinks it is a good clinic. She has Maine Coon cats and several vets at the clinic have treated her cats.

Thanks for your help!
