re: "maybe even the analysts who rate AMD a hold are beginning to take small positions...."

I enjoyed your post in general but the above statement is very unlikely. There are ethical, legal, and, no doubt, contractual issues to be dealt with before that can happen. Distant aunts and uncles maybe, but even these can put an analyst's job and career at risk. Favored clients certainly, but only with appropriate caveats and qualifications.

To Tad: Am I close or has the industry changed since I was there?

Regards,

DARBES

Tejerk - Re: "Like you have been saying intc's got it in the bag! Nothing to worry about, right? CB has all these little surprises lined up, right? I mean that's all he talks about. koppafeel will out MHz the Athlon when it comes out in October??? or is November or 2000, right? "

Right.

You and DannyThwee are sounding AWFULLY NERVOUS !

By the way - why no more ATHLATE endorsements since the Compaq and IBM ones ?

It's almost September and only 2 real OEM's have bellied up to the AMD bar !

Makes your palms sweat, eh Tejerk ?

Tejerk - Re: "BTW have you noticed how quiet Sanders has been? Given his penchant for grand statements, you would think he would be all over the place shouting about Athlon, THE FASTEST CHIP IN ALL THE LAND!!"

You bet he's quiet - he now has to be the COO and Chief Technology Officer since his COO/CTO - Atiq Raza - up and QUIT last month.

And let us not forget - AMD's Dresden Managing Director QUIT a few days before Raza quit. Sanders is probably knee deep in DOODOO trying to sort out the disaster in Germany that his DEPARTED MANAGER left behind.

Of course - you are expecting millions of 0.18 micron copper AthFLOPS to come flowing out of Dresden early next year.

Please - hold your breath.

Paul

Tejerk - Re: " You could be out spending the profits you made off of intc. Instead you keeping posting here in a frenzy....I think Scumbria noticed it first. "

Clue: I am spending some of my profits - as I type this late at night from my Hotel room atop Chicago's Magnificent Mile !

Tejerk - Re: "AMD HAS THE FASTEST CHIP IN ALL THE
LAND!!!! "

Judging by all the AthFLOP systems that are NOT AVAILABLE, that ONE FASTEST CHIP IN ALL THE LAND doesn't go around too far.

Perhaps AMD should make a second - and third - FASTEST CHIP IN ALL THE LAND.

Yields are really great, eh Tejerk ?
