I have been trading Dell on and off for the past year and reading your posts for about the same length of time. You say"every day I'm thankful for the honesty here.." Well here is some.I note the fact that the content of your posts leave no doubt as to your unabashed love affair with all things Dell. They are a bit over the top in my opinion but so be it.I do however take exception to your characterizing anyone who does not share your opinion of Dell or that sells their shares for whatever reasons, as "idiots" or "fools".That type of rigid intolerance is best left unstated.

Kemble: OT OT

Hi! Okay, you asked for it... Now I am going to be philosophical since you started this... You can really beat yourself up about the what ifs, can't you? I think there is a much bigger plan in life than my plan. That is what keeps me understanding that all things will work together in that puzzle. That is reassuring. I am thankful for waking up and smelling the Starbucks. I am thankful for an old boss of mine who introduced me to Dell. I did not enjoy working for him and I was used to working for my present boss. It was a very hard ten months before he was removed (for the second time), but I learned from him and I learned all about Dell from him. I recently had a chance to thank him and he has gone onto much greater things for him. He just did not belong at our company. I am thankful that I read so much and came across Dell, just when I was looking to make an investment. I am thankful that I have held in the face of adversity and bears saying our Dell is about to bottom out. I am thankful that I am developing patience. I am thankful for an incredible education that has opened many doors for me and continues to do so. My Dad sent me to incredible prep schools that have opened more doors for me than my college degree. I am thankful to be employed by a company that is based in the State where I am from, because there are many opportunities. I am thankful for a boss who has promoted me over and over again and trusts me and has confidence in my abilities. I am thankful for a Father who taught me to handle money. I am thankful that I listened. I am thankful that I can always find a great sale when I see something that I want to wear. I am thankful that in the middle of the storm, I can still have faith, trust, persevere and hope. Two weeks ago, this woman walked up to me a dinner and said "I was on your Freshman floor in the dorm." This was 20 years ago. She was from California too and was dating the back-up quarterback to John Elway at Stanford. We became friends because I was from Palo Alto. She had changed so much that I did not begin to recognize her, but she knew me right off the bat. She is a lawyer now. We're going to have lunch soon. Stranger things have happened to me lately. People I work with think I know everyone in the world. I just love people and I have a lot of friends. I keep my friends. I have had some since childhood. Nothing is a coincidence in life.

My little sister met her husband at Stanford (he is my age), but did not remember him. It was not until she moved to Chicago to work for the CDC, that she met him again. Nothing is a coincidence.

That is because there is a much greater plan. And, I am thankful to be part of it. And, I am thankful that you have been such an influence on all of us. It has been a gift. So, when I look at the what if's... I see that even our mistakes fit into that greater plan and puzzle. God knew what mistakes we would make and He planned for them. And, I am thankful for second chances when I fail. It is not over yet... Everything happens for a reason and although we can take the wrong turn on the road, I still think we end up at the same ending where we were meant to be... I get philosophical about life. I have seen miracles. Daniel is a miracle and a neater kid than I could have ever asked for...I did not do this... I told him the other day that God made him and he said "what?" I now say "the God who gave me Daniel can do anything." And, my association with Dell and SI is no accident. It fits into that same plan. So, we can rest, knowing that everything is under control. Michael is doing a fantastic job. This company is firing on all cylinders. And, we can have faith in the future. And, we will learn along the way... We are all into Dell for a much bigger reason and we are all reaping the benefits right now. That was no accident. That is my philosophical two cents worth of sense.

Kemble: OT OT More info on timing etc.

How I got to Texas is a long story, but I am always looking for the good in everything. It is hard to understand when we have had 32 days at over 100 degrees this summer. But, since Dell is in Austin, I was more in tune with Dell. How is that for a silver lining? :).

And, of all things, I am working for this company that is saturated in California, so the door is wide open to return, at the right time.

And talking about timing and the puzzle, one of our general managers has tried to hire me away twice, and most recently, in January, he called me and said "You are supposed to work for me." That was the second time he has said that to me in three years. I would love to work for him. But, I just did not feel the timing was right. The first time, was right before Daniel was born and I knew that I would be in the middle of a lot of changes. And, I was working for the boss that I did not enjoy, but I felt that I was supposed to be there, to learn. And, the second time, this guy called me, he had gone to work for a new Internet Company, so I really was interested. It was a great position and he said it had my name written all over it. All of the players in this company were about my age and they were are very bright, self-starters. It was just across town. So, I really considered talking to him about it. Suddenly, in the midst of the discussions, he was hired back by my company. So, I was glad that I had not jumped. It was great for him, because he is working from his home now and has a great position in the company. I think that leaving my company positioned him better for the future with my company. He is in charge of all of our Internet development now, so it is possible that I could work for him, someday. He is working directly for our COO, in California, but before he was working for my boss. So, it all worked out.

And, the company that he left our company for, has sold to a major media company in Nashville, so I would have gone to work for him, he would have left to return to my company and I would have been faced with a possible move to Nashville. And, I really do not like Nashville... Dell is there now, but I am just not a Nashville person. I was not meant to move to Nashville. I know that.

So, that is an example of how I think the plan works. I might still work for him. He is a great person. But, it would be a better deal for me now.

The future is still very bright... and I am getting confirmation of that in many ways!! But, timing is everything... and out of my hands.

Relating this to Dell, I just don't believe that it is a coincidence or an accident that I am into Dell. I think it was part of the plan. I could not have stumbled upon this and the timing was perfect. And, having SI to learn from has been a huge gift as well. It all fits together...

And I think the Dell Management has some incredible things in store. They are really good about not talking before have a plan in place and something to say. And, Michael is so focused on his company as he should be. I am also encouraged to see him putting money into other E-Commerce start-ups. I think he will be on the cutting edge of the next century. And, I am thankful to be involved..

So, I do believe that all of these miracles work together for good... and getting into Dell at the time that I did is an incredible thing.
