American management rejected Deming, that is why he went to Japan and helped them rebuild their economy and become an economic superpower. In Japanese business schools he is looked on as a god. His business management models have not been incorporated into most U.S. companies, although many pay him lip service.

I prefer Keynes -- whose theories made inadequate demand depressions obsolete. But the Man of the Century is FDR -- without him Hitler and Tojo would have had to fight it out over the dead bodies of free people everywhere.
