If you see something going up, jump on and ride, then see it about to go down, acknowledge that you don't have the knowledge to make money on the downside, and step off, is that stupid?

Do you find it objectionable that people who are not really knowledgeable traders now have the opportunity to at least dabble profitably? Or would you prefer it to be a closed fraternity?

Some will get burned, of course, including some who think themselves knowledgeable. Many others won't. They may not gain from a coming downturn, but they won't lose either, and they will be in a good position to profit from the next cycle.

So when IS the big crash coming? It's been predicted every year for the entire decade, hasn't it? Can there ever be a BIG crash when the "Plunge Patrol" is constantly on duty.
