Pravin - <I respect your opinion, but do you think that IBM knows less than you do?>

I have the utmost respect for IBM's technology. You all miss the point.

IBM has a different business model.

Extremely high yields in volume manufacturing is integral to Intel's success at it's chosen business model.

That IBM is breaking ground with SOI technology is great for the industry, and and presume for IBM.

SOI will be great for Intel when it make sense to implement in volume, copy exactly manufacturing. Intel evaluates technologies such as SOI on a continual basis. SOI in particular had been evaluated at Intel way before the IBM announcement. And whose to say SOI lots aren't going through Intel's development fab right now?
