James, I don't want to go off on a tangent. If interest rate hikes are aimed at inflation, that's one thing. If the hike is aimed at the stock market, that's another thing.

The problem is discussing this matter is simply that the wealth created through stock investments is, or can be, one of the causes for raising inflation. However, there are other causes as well...tight labor markets, commodities, et al. All I'm saying is that the Fed should not single out investor wealth as a specific target...that is take down investor wealth and stop inflation in its tracks.

<OT> I guess I just don't get all of the Fed bashers, "controling the market", "threat to the market", etc... It seems to me that if you're going to annoint the Fed with the power to "control" the market then you also have to give them credit for the bull run we've been on the last 7 or 8 years... Where was the DOW average when AG came on board? Where is it today? If that's "control" then I say keep it up....
