C-O-N-S-P-I-R-A-C-Y? BTW September 02, 1998 countrylife.net <If possible start stocking up on supplies now, the mass runs will probably start late next summer as people realize that this problem is real and the lights WILL go out. The worst part is that with technology, and the widespread use of "just in time" inventory, 99.99% of grocery stores only keep a 72 hour reserve supply of food; yup, we'll see the food shortages start in Aug, or Sept next year.> There are a lot of doom & gloom articles out there. But no one ever posted on SI that there would be food shortages at-this-point-in-time. I never heard of this site or read anything on SI that referenced it. I'm gonna go to bed. Good night. Cheryl
