You asked a good question. No, I do not view stock
buybacks as "creative accounting".
I think the "phoney baloney" is involved when a
company announces that it will buy back "X" number of
shares when, in reality, there is no real intent to
fully complete buying the full number of shares.
I think of this maneuver as "pumping".
