I agree KIDE will do well. It's had a big run already in the last month. I think it goes higher but a little more risk here . . . I probably will not be playing it unless there's a major pullback. I heard they have a split coming up. Do you have any idea when that is? Glad to hear that KIDE had a run. I was looking them over a couple of months ago and felt they were way undervalued. I looked them over the same time I was drawn to SYCD... ran away from this one when I found out the distributing agreement has to be with Nintendo to market Pokemon items here and as far as I could uncover SYCD had none, they were also stalling on releasing their financials, so I looked no further. Also do all these companies that make Pokemon products have to pay licensing fees or royalties to Nintendo? This was my understanding from exchanges I had with another poster who seemed to be up on this. This is also why I pointed out the fact that the only GAMES produced with the Pokemon characters are exclusively Nintendo. From what I understand, the games for the Game Boy (there's a red version and a blue version, yellow version to be released in October and a green version shortly there after) was the "creation" of Pokemon. To actually play the game boy pokemon game, is the same as playing the card game. These Pokemon Game Boy games were so popular in Japan that the trading cards were then marketed and the cartoon created to fulfill this craze to the younger children. I am familiar with Japanese cartoons and I bet the cartoons shown here are the Japanese ones, simply dubbed. This could be an avenue to explore, also. Who's got the marketing agreement to sell these videos..... do you know if AKLM has a Pokemon related licensing agreement with Nintendo? not a clue.... oh, something to keep in mind regarding the Pokemon craze is that there is a "knock off" which just started here in the States. The cartoon just started yesterday with the FAll line up, it's called, "Digimon" and to me the little "creatures/critters" look VERY similar to the Pokemon creatures. If they market it with the intentions of gaining 10% off of the Pokemon craze, they might do well as the non-TY beanies sold well, too. Last year CYSP also went crazy with the Furby stuff. This year I think they're expecting to have Furby babies which should be hot as well. Here, in Hotlanta Furbys line the shelves. They are not a big demand item here, nor were they that hot last Christmas. My kids tell me the Furby babies to be released for Christmas will say things like change my diaper, etc.... We ALL agreed that this did not interest us here in this household. LOL. Also, they have already released Furby beanies, again, I see no kids with these around here. I might be wrong but I think Furby had it's heyday already and will only do modest sales. There's a post on the Talk to Lola thread by genejockey that explains the dilution and increase in the float from 300K to something like 2M. Wait till all those poor longs figure that out. YIKES...thanks for the warning.... the sad thing is, it will take many of the longs a while to accept the fact that the float was diluted by a multiple of 7!! OUCH... that's a bit much. But at least 2M is still a doable float. Do you know if that was management dumping or shares coming in from a financing deal?
