Enervestor, My guess is that we'll get another rate increase or two from the Fed, and with Y2K worries too, that the market wil be choppy into Year 2000. The energy/OS stocks will probably take a hit with the growth stocks- which will be a good buying opportunity in both- then choose your best shots and hold them....

BTW strong rumor that Exxon will buy BP Amoco's interests in both Altura JV and ARCO's Permian basin properties- if true would leave new XOM a powerhouse in west Texas with 300,000 boe production daily....

And with 3d seismic,theres' lots of gas plays out in the Permian Basin and the Overthrust Belt that were completely overlooked in the past.....
