Dow Jones International News Service via Dow Jones

SUNNYVALE, Calif. (Dow Jones)--Ariba Inc. (ARBA) signed an agreement with
Honda Motor Co.'s (HMC) American Honda Motor Co. to provide its intranet ORMS
electronic commerce application and Internet Ariba Network service.

In a press release Tuesday, Ariba also said it has provided its ORMS software
to Hewlett-Packard Co. (HWP), which has completed Phase I deployment with plans
to roll out to all employees by the end of 2000.

Financial details weren't released for either contract.

Nasdaq-listed shares of Ariba, an e-commerce software developer, traded
recently up 4 7/8, or 3.6%, at 142 a share, on volume of 217,500 shares.
Average volume is 908,288 shares.
