What will it mean?

Darned if I know. I wonder about the timing. It was just earlier this month that the final date was passed for the Tribe to respond to the company's statement of claim, or whatever it's called. The Tribe's lawyer didn't appeal Judge Bell's decision, so depositions are going ahead for a hearing in state court. I wonder if the DOI waited to be sure the state court thing was happening before issuing their decision. It doesn't look like Detroit is too happy about it. Now it looks like the Tribe won't be held up by Detroit if it wants to use the Toledo Beach Site. The DOI's decision at this time may reduce the company's leverage over the Tribe, but on the other hand, the decision could also be a strong positive signal for all parties. It will be interesting to hear the company's take on this.
