Jerry, I agree...a tax cut would be a very dumb thing to do. Paying off the debt, however...? But, nah...they don't have enough spine for that, do they? doug

but i'm betting he will not raise again..3 steps and a stumble OJ, I wouldn't be too sure about that bet. If you recall AG's H-H testimony (time before last) he said, in effect, (I assume from his earlier experience) that the Fed can't stop a stock market bubble but it can keep a stock market crash from seriously hurting the economy. That may be just hubris, but a test may be in the making. (AG is god-like when he saves capitalism from it excesses -- ala 1987. I think he likes that role.) i don't think he wants to hurt the little guy who's just now begining to feel the wealth effect a bit Where did you get that fantasy? The fed is concerned about banks, not the "little guy." Forget that at your peril!
