I think I can read in a migration path with incentives to Intel's IA64, something you speculated on just scant hours before the
CPQ and MSFT announcements in their entirety.

Thanks, Process Man (Bar Mitzvah declared). Migration paths are a pretty common ploy in the medium - large systems business. They do happen a lot when a company is in a "compromising' position WRT its competition. Kind of like Acura saying 'here, use this '99 Integra until we get the new design 2000 out to you. Migration paths are a strategy to lock in footprints and fannies we'll have fun watching as Intel and the box makers move up the food chain.
