<I think CPQ did exactly the right thing - trade an asset that just hurt the bottom line for a business relationship with the potential to drive billions in revenue for CPQ. > I agree entirely and I could not have put it better myself. Compaq has recently taken many of the classic steps associated with enhancing shareholder value - firing the Chief Executive, divesting of unprofitable subsidiaries (AV is still unprofitable in spite of its obvious potential), outsourcing manufacturing and rationalising its distribution. I like this trend.
