My statement was general, and as such there will be exceptions. I really shouldn't have to explain this to someone of your obvious intellect.

Rights are not pristine nor complete from the outset, nor is the subsequent move to an erosion of rights steady and unidirectional; that's simply the tendency of things.

Government in general is the problem. Any time that people are granted any measure of power over others that power will be abused. I was talking about the feds partly because that was the focus of this thread, and partly because they're the biggest shark in our ocean. That's certainly not meant to imply that they are the only threat to our freedoms, just the biggest.
