I can't help but notice, and continue to point out, that the one agency that is not catching heat over this is the ATF, the agency that was originally in charge and arguably created most of the problems in the first place.

It's another time-honored power-monger tactic, when up against the wall and forced to take some blame for something, to blame it on someone other than those who are really responsible. This apparently serves the purpose of creating the appearance of contrition and change, while conveniently muddying the waters enough that the real truth never comes out. And it's especially handy if you can blame it on someone who's on the political outs (like Louis Freeh and the FBI). I'm not sure why the Special Forces are being dragged into this, but I do believe that part of the point is to make sure that the ATF skates.

Muddy, muddy, muddy...
