Unclewest, remember those car commercials that go something like this: "The Dodge has more horsepower than a Chevy, more cargo room than a Ford, and costs less than a Toyota." It may be an absolutely true statement, but that doesn't mean that the Dodge is the best buy there is. Anyone can come up with those kinds of statements if they pick-n-choose their comparisons.

The anti-Rambus arguments are starting to sound a lot like those commercials, except in the negative: "DRDRAM has less theoretical bandwidth than DDR SDRAM, less latency than VC DRAM, and most cost than PC133 SDRAM." It sounds nice as an "Anything But Rambus" pitch, but it also shows how the anti-Rambus coalition is desperate for arguments. Not only that, but it tells me that the continued lack of a consensus this close to the release of Camino bodes pretty well for DRDRAM.

I'm not saying that Rambus will sweep the entire market in just a few years. But I'd settle for a huge chunk, which Rambus is more than likely to take.
