Dan: It is rather simple. Most IPOs flare at open. Buying at market on open could cost severely as they generally retrack some.

If I was inclined to buy it I wouldn't want to be used as rocket fuel and have them pull my market order near a top. I suppose a limit order would suffice. I used to have a personal rule and many others use it. That would be not to by anything in the first 90minutes of trading and if you can be quick use a 45 minute rule.

I in no way would recommend that you do either. If you do possibly the safer entry is less of a gamble.
