Nandu few simple reasons. 1. U need to furnish the flat inc. all kitchen utensils etc. 2. U need to get the place thoroughly cleaned before u land up at the flat. 3. U need to arrange for cooks, servants, car, chauffer etc for the 2-3 weeks that u r there. 4. U need to go out and do your shopping (in bombay everyone is used to having sabzi, chicken, fish etc. delivered to their door) since no one comes to the door. The apt. is far enough from the main road and the no. of people living there at any one time is too small for someone to take the trouble of walking to your place. Best reason of all, My brother lives in Bombay with all the above set up so we just drop in enjoy our 2-3 weeks and leave with none of the hassles (and in Inida these things can consume your daily life). ratan
