"Freedom from the aberrated life of unsatisfied cravings."

I like this phrase. This is why, despite my recognition of the threat they pose to all of us, I still feel some pity for the power mongers. It must be so sad to live a life that is so far out of control that one believes that the only hope one has is to attempt to control others. Think of how mind-bogglingly insecure Napoleon and Cromwell and Hitler must have been.

Bill Clinton never stopped being the little fat kid. That's a lot of the problem. He, like others of his ilk, craves power because they feel so powerless.

Of course, that streak of pathetic needy childishness doesn't excuse anything and it doesn't make him and the others less dangerous. As a matter of fact, it makes them more so. Any dog trainer will tell you that the dogs you have to be wary of are not the mean ones, but the scared ones.
