Anyway there is no honor killing going on in my neck of the woods. brees there was a famous case here in the US a few years ago and this is where some of these stereotypes about Islam come from. From what I can recall, a family had come here from some middle eastern country. The FBI was tapping the phones of the house because they suspected some terrorist connections on the part of the father. The daughter had pretty much grown up here, she was 13 or so, and she wanted to work at Wendy's and her parents didn't want her to... so, she went anyway as many American kids would. She came home one night from work and the father went into this tyrade about how she had defaced the family, and he shouted the workds "die my daughter die", and killed her in front of the mother. Do you remember this case? Since the FBI was bugging the house they had the whole thing on tape. I guess this was an "honor killing". OK so obviously this guy was a nut but the problem is one case like this on american soil and Islam is branded for life, thats all people know about it.
